Here’s a bit of freelance I just finished last night for a collaborative art show. Lately I’ve been noticing in my work how the letterpress class has influenced my type treatments. I’m thinking simpler, bolder, more to the point. I’ll have to post some pictures of my letterpress work on here.

Basically, this Co-Lab show is the commissioned collaboration between the winners of the UF Cirque show that I did some work for. I think it’s a really cool concept to curate artistic collisions.

Technically, this is just a 3 color poster. I tried a fourth color for the information text but I wanted to stay close to my concept of overlapping/interweaving disciplines.

Whenever I’m creating something, I often put the work to the T-shirt test. Is it cool enough to be a t-shirt, or in this case a huge poster you hold in front of your face (Euro style)? So this was a quick comp of me holding an early version of the poster. Note my UF gator PJ pants and my girlfriend reading in the background.

I took these little portraits and tagged the real people on facebook last night. They had already made them their profile pictures and people were loving it. “How’d you do this?!” “Poster looks awesome!” It feels good. Below is a happy client’s text message.
